"This is by far the best cottage we have stayed in, all the fixtures and fittings were of a very high standard and the cottage was beautiful. Having owned our own holiday cottage we know just how much effort, hard work and attention to detail goes into creating and maintaining such a beautiful home, and it does feel like home. The area is beautiful and Beeley is a perfect place to be based to explore this part of the Peak District. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone."

DEVONSHIRECOTTAGE

Beautiful cottage set on the stunning Chatsworth Estate

Our luxurious lovingly restored Derbyshire sandstone cottage is perfect for exploring this beautiful part of the Peak District National Park with a log fire, comfy sofas, oak beamed rooms, spacious dining room, crisp linen, sumptuous beds, private rear seated garden with dreamy views of Chatsworth Estate, beautiful local walks from the door, with many paths to explore Chatsworth park, Spot the deer among the trees as you walk by the river to Chatsworth House.

Nestling in the Derwent Vally between the Moors and the River Derwent, it's located in a stunning setting. Beeley village is situated at the southern end of Chatsworth park and this unchanged village typifies times gone by.

Beeley is a picturesque chocolate box village, made up of local honey coloured sandstone cottages. In the square, only foot steps from the cottage,  you can enjoy the delights of the renowned Devonshire Arms inn, stroll up the lane and you will discover "The Smithy", village cafe.

It's beautiful, and very peaceful with the sounds of birdsong and the occasional clip clop of horses hooves. Come to unwind, enjoy the great outdoors and fall in love.

Stately Homes/Castle

A rounded walk from Beeley along the river to the magnificent Chatsworth House, set in beautiful parkland, attracts visitors from all over the world. Haddon Hall is a stones throw away dating back to both Medieval & Tudor architecture with fine gardens. If castles are your thing then Bolsover Castle, dominating the countryside from the hilltop, is well worth a visit.

Local Villages

The local village of 'Ashford in the water' is renowned for its beauty and charm. Parts of it date back to medieval times, including the

Sheep-Wash Bridge.

Bakewell is a fascinating historical market town with many nooks and crannies to explore, with a large market every Monday and a Farmers Market every last Saturday in the month.

The Blue John Cavern, in the beautiful village of Castleton, is a 2000 year old series of caverns the finest in Great Britain...definitely worth exploring!
